I’ve just spent a lovely morning strolling hand in hand with my beau around the 2014 Southsea food festivall. I’m now sat on a bench in a nearby park tucking into my organic smoked bacon ‘bubble &’ cake and enjoying a bit of shade.
For a weekend every year the Palmeston Road/Osborne Road cross section is cordoned off and packed full of yummy stalls and hungry people.
We made the right decision and got down there early, a strawberry and elderflower milkshake courtesy of the garage lounge bakery and quite a few ‘tasters’ saw us through to 11.45 when lunch was sought out…
He choose a calzone roasted vegetable pizza care of the new independent pizza place circolo, I opted for above mentioned bubble& cake (the squeak left out apparently) and couldn’t resist a kedgeree scotch egg!!!
We also stocked up on a few goodies to ease us into the week….
Scrummy purchases included:
*Firefly natural drink, kiwi, lime and mint (think Virgin mojito)
*garlic Bitlong (made in the new forest)
*orange and purple cauliflower for colourful Monday night supper
*Amazing goats cheese (black pepper and smoked -maxwells fave)
*artisan pork pie
I don’t know about you but I’m looking forward to the next couple of days worth of eating!
If you’ve not been before I really suggest you do!! It’s on till 5 today and there were so many other stalls I wanted to buy things at…
Cocktails, fresh fruit, butchers, flowers, herbs, cakes and the paella stall which unfortunately wasn’t ready in time! 😦
Here’s a few pics I snapped along the way!
