I get to do some odd and wonderful things as part of my job… During half term we took 11 Leigh Park youngsters to the Winchester Discovery Centre. They were hosting an exhibition called Trash to Treasure. 20150425-073604.jpg

The exhibition featured work from around the world where creative people had utilised trash (tin cards, plastic packaging, newspapers, fabric scraps etc) to make beautiful objects from.20150425-073612.jpg

From fashion items to baskets, toys, sculptures, jewelly and more the exhibition showcased how these materials, which traditionally are just thrown away can be given a new life as a beautifully crafted object. 20150425-073647.jpg

I think some of my favourite items were the ones that used intricate paper folding techniques. 20150425-073710.jpg20150425-073723.jpg

You have to appreciate and look up to these ingenious people who are working with what little they have but not allowing to stop them running a business or creating beautiful art! True proof that one persons trash is another persons treasure!
